A magnitude 7 earthquake was recorded today off the coast of New Caledonia, French territory in the southern Pacific Ocean.
According to the US media, there is no tsunami risk.
The quake was located 279 kilometers southeast of Tadine, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
This was reported by the US Geophysical Institute (Usgs).
