Daniel Siad, alleged recruiter of fixer Jeffrey Epstein, was found dead in his home near Paris.

The prosecutor's office announced this and confirmed it to Le Parisien.

The 69-year-old man, of Algerian origin but with Swedish and French citizenship, was suspected of recruiting young models to hand over to the American accused of pedophilia. Five women filed complaints against him.

He died Monday evening in Colombes (Hauts-de-Seine), apparently from cardiac arrest. His roommate, a 28-year-old woman, found him unconscious in the kitchen and alerted neighbors.

The Nanterre prosecutor's office explained that "an investigation into the cause of death was opened on Monday evening following the discovery" of the body.

Daniel Siad, accused of several crimes, including rape, was the subject of an investigation in Paris by the Office Specialized in Combating Human Trafficking. He has always maintained his innocence.
