Tragedy in a coal mine in southeastern Serbia. Following the explosion caused by a methane leak, eight workers died and dozens of their colleagues were injured.

The incident took place this morning in the Sokobanja region.

Rescuers rescued 65 people: 58 were hospitalized in the area's hospitals.

Another serious episode occurred in the same mine in 1998, with 29 victims.
