The White House has approved the controversial supply of cluster munitions to Kiev.

The Washington Post anticipates it, quoting US administration sources.

Kiev could therefore have in its arsenal the fearsome "cluster munitions" or "cluster bombs" , devices defined as clusters because when they explode they release smaller bombs that multiply the damage but which, on the other hand, can remain unexploded for a long time and thus endanger the civilian years after the end of a conflict .

Cluster bombs were banned by a convention signed by 120 nations , but which the United States, Ukraine and Russia have not signed up to.
