The death toll from the collapse of a building under construction in central Madrid yesterday has risen to four , according to the Efe news agency, citing the Spanish capital's emergency services.

After the first two, firefighters found two more bodies last night in the rubble of the building located on Calle de las Hileras between the Opera House and Puerta del Sol. The four people reported missing were a supervisor of the construction work underway in the building and three workers.

Renovation work was underway in the uninhabited building in the heart of the city and workers were at work when part of the facade collapsed.

A cloud of dust filled the neighborhood. Firefighters and police teams cordoned off the area .
