Tragedy on the set of the western movie "Rust", at Bonanza Creek Ranch, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Alec Baldwin pulled the trigger on a prop gun which he fired, killing a woman and injuring a man while filming.

The victim is 42-year-old director of photography Halyna Hutchins, while 48-year-old director Joel Souza was injured in the shooting.

The local police made it known.

At the moment, no charges have been formalized for the incident, which is under investigation and no person has been arrested.

Witnesses continue to be questioned by investigators.
Hutchins and Souza "were shot when the American actor unloaded a gun used in filming the film," said the Santa Fe sheriff, explaining that the director of photography died shortly after arriving at the University of New Mexico. Hospital in Albuquerque for the severity of his injuries.

The filmmaker was instead transported by ambulance to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in Santa Fe. It would be in serious condition.

"There are no words to describe my shock and sadness at the tragic accident," tweeted Alec Baldwin in his first comment on what happened on the set of Rust. "I am cooperating with the police investigation and am in contact with Halyna Hutchins' husband."
