Tragedy during the night in the small town of Kroev, in western Germany: during the night, around 11pm, part of a hotel collapsed. The first toll is one dead and eight injured. Other guests are still stuck under the rubble.

In total, there were fourteen people in the hotel at the time of the collapse - where a floor collapsed. Five managed to escape unharmed, but nine others were trapped. At dawn today, the German emergency services then announced that one of them had died, but that her body had not yet been recovered from the rubble. The other 8 are injured, some seriously.

«Eight people are still trapped in the building, some with serious injuries. The emergency services are in contact with some of them,” reads a police press release. «Among the missing there is a small child. But at the moment he is sleeping peacefully and we are in contact with his parents."
