A fire breaks out in the hospital, eleven babies die
The president of the country gives the news: the causes of the fire are unknown
Tragedy in Senegal.
Eleven newborns died in a fire in a hospital in the city of Tivaouane, in the western part of the country.
President Macky Sall announced on Twitter: "I have just learned with pain and dismay of the deaths of 11 newborns in the fire in the neonatal ward of the public hospital," he wrote.
The causes of the fire are currently unknown , probably attributable to a short circuit.
It happened precisely at the Mame Abdou Aziz Sy Dabakh hospital . City mayor Demba Diop reported that "three children have been saved". According to local media, the Mame Abdou Aziz Sy Dabakh hospital was recently inaugurated.
