Carlos Alcaraz is the first Wimbledon finalist. The Spanish champion defeated the number 5 ranked American Taylor Fritz 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 .

Alcaraz, who won on London's grass courts in 2023 and 2024, is reaching his third straight Wimbledon final . He'll face the winner of the Jannik Sinner-Novak Djokovic tie.

Fritz put in a strong performance, but it wasn't enough to defeat the Spaniard. Alcaraz suffered a lapse in form at the end of the second set, which cost him the set, and he came close in the fourth-set tiebreak, when he saved two set points from the American that would have prolonged the match to a fifth and decisive set. But from 4-6 down, he quickly won four points in a row and closed the match 8-6, in 2 hours and 48 minutes.

Now world number 1 Jannik Sinner and seven-time Wimbledon winner Novak Djokovic take to the court .
