Who are the Scrooges of the Meloni government? According to data published on the Chamber and Senate websites, based on 2023 data, on the podium there are two ministers from the Brothers of Italy plus the party leader.
In first place is the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto , who can boast an income of 895,588 thousand euros. Second, Daniela Santanché at 298.638 and just below Giorgia Meloni with 293.531.
The poorest is Raffaele Fitto , another true "Melonian", with 22,221 euros.
The two deputy prime ministers are far behind: for Antonio Tajani the income stops at almost 77 thousand euros (but it was around 20 thousand less in 2022), Matteo Salvini is slightly better off with an income approaching 100 thousand euros (down from the over 115 thousand of the previous year). Paired with the other Northern League minister, Giancarlo Giorgetti , around 99 thousand and without changes compared to the previous year.
However, there is news for the Minister of Tourism: in 2023 Daniela Santanché updated her 730 specifying that she had sold the shares of Visibilia concessionaire (25%) and the entire share package of the Twiga shares, while a house in Milan and land in Turin, which in 2022 had brought it to a total of close to 301 thousand euros. The Minister of Education, Giuseppe Valditara , has a richer portfolio, equal to 262,370, compared to almost 212 thousand in 2022. In fifth place Elisabetta Casellati with 235 thousand euros: in the asset certificate delivered to Parliament, the former president of the Senate has specified that at the beginning of January there was the donation of the bare ownership of two properties in the Veneto and the share of a company.
Very close behind is the Minister of Labour, Marina Calderone , who can boast an income of 232 thousand euros, up from 191 thousand, and the head of health, Orazio Schillaci , with around 227 thousand. The Keeper of the Seals, Carlo Nordio , is a little less rich: almost 210 thousand compared to 232 thousand in 2012 which included an apartment in Treviso and company shares.
Finally, the 100 thousand euro range is larger ( Gennaro Sangiuliano who is close to 175 thousand euros, Andrea Abodi with 165,563 euros, Matteo Piantedosi at almost 164 thousand and Roberto Calderoli at 145 thousand) in addition to Francesco Lollobrigida on 101 thousand euros, in line with the previous year when the reported income was 104 thousand, including a building in Rome and a car with long-term rental.
