This morning Villacidro was transformed from a Country of Shadows into a colorful and festive Wonderland. The fifth edition of the Carnevalauser , a merry carnival parade organized by the historic Auser association involved around two thousand people. Great enthusiasm among the kindergarten, elementary and middle school children, thanks also to the pleasant, almost spring-like sunshine that served as the backdrop for the day.

Parents, teachers, educators and professors also paraded through the streets of the town in the guise of superheroes, queens of hearts, funny little animals with soft furs and the ever-present colorful clowns with their multi-coloured wigs.

Leading the parade were Disney's most beloved characters : Goofy, Mickey and Minnie, Uncle Scrooge and Donald, followed by a colorful crew of astronauts, stars and planets, snails, autumn trees, ancient Egyptians and ancient Romans, fairies, spiderman, zorro , t-rex and groups of Wednesday Addams , back in the limelight thanks to the TV series produced for Netflix by Tim Burton.

The festive procession ended with a joyful masquerade ball in the area of the former barracks, the headquarters of the association, with music, entertainment, colored balloons and lots of confetti and streamers.

“We are really happy that our Carnevalauser has involved so many families and children. We last had a fashion show in 2020, just before the start of the pandemic. This post covid edition went very well: this is demonstrated by the fact that even if it is lunch time, the masked children do not want to leave!” the volunteers and Auser volunteers smile.
