An intimate ceremony, without announcements or invitations. No processions, no speeches, no background music.
After ten months of searching for the truth and an ongoing investigation, there is at least one grave to mourn and pray over: in the Quartucciu cemetery, where the bodies of Luigi Gulisano and Maria Dessì were buried on Wednesday afternoon. Their son Davide accompanied them, along with his wife Laura, their grandchildren Dario and Viola, and their uncles, who lived nearby, when the couple was found dead in their home on Via Ghibli on December 5th of last year. Ten months later, the pain continues. That of Davide, who lost his parents that evening and his only brother, Claudio, who ended up in prison as the only suspect on charges of double homicide. A tragedy within a tragedy, one that perhaps demands a dutiful silence.
That same silence is also evoked in the obituary published yesterday: "Mom and Dad can finally rest in peace, and now that the funeral has taken place, we thank those close to us, even with respectful silence, confident that they will remember them fondly."
