Valerio Scanu returns to talk about the tumor that affected him during Covid. In November 2022 he revealed that towards the end of the first lockdown he had undergone surgery for an adenocarcinoma, a delicate operation in which half a lung was removed. And he hadn't told anyone, not even his loved ones.

«I wanted to protect my family, also because the pandemic had just broken out and they couldn't be close to me - explained the singer from Maddalena, 33, to "Storie Italiane" -. We didn't know what it was and how I should deal with it, so I wanted to keep it to myself and shared it after years, when it was all in the past ."

He didn't even talk about it to the fans: «You never know how the public takes it. Maybe someone opens up because he feels the need to do so and people attack him thinking he wants to play the victim. Maybe out of a hundred comments, there is only one that attacks you, but that is enough to devastate you. So I preferred not to say it, and I faced the operation alone."

A few months later, in December 2020, he lost his father Tonino, who died of Covid. This time, there was already Luigi Calcara, a 32-year-old from Castelvetrano and professor of Electronic Engineering at the La Sapienza University of Rome, who he married in the Campidoglio on 7 September last year. " Children? We don't rule it out, but it's still early. For now we want to take care of each other."
