Two old acquaintances of Italian football at the helm of Nacional, the Montevideo team, one of the most successful in Uruguay.

The first is the former Inter player Alvaro Recoba, called by the club to the bench to take the place of the outgoing coach Alvaro Gutierrez, sacked after the defeat (2-0) against Boston River in the match of the sixth day of the championship.

El Chino – 47 years old – will make his debut as coach next Monday, October 23, in the match in which Nacional will receive the visit of Deportivo Maldonado.

Recoba will have another former "Italian" as assistant coach: Nelson Abeijon, former midfielder of Cagliari, Como and Atalanta.
