Immerse yourself in the life of two enchanting villages on the island, interact with the locals, actively participate in daily activities, from artisanal to food and wine, but also contribute to creating that particular climate of warmth and sociability.

You can experience all this in Tuili and Genuri, characteristic agro-pastoral villages located at the foot of the Giara plateau, which will host the event “Sardinia Experiences, Ancient Knowledge and Flavors” on October 5 and 6. Here you will find a rich calendar of initiatives that will actively involve you, making you directly relive the ancient knowledge and flavors of the territory.

How? On October 5th you will discover the charm of Tuili. You will walk through its historic center, cared for in every aspect, and characterized by typical peasant homes in ''ladiri'', mud and straw bricks, with the beautiful ''lollas''. Among its attractions is the church of San Pietro Apostolo which has housed since 1800 the imposing Retablo by the Maestro di Castelsardo, a work considered among the greatest artistic expressions of the Renaissance in Sardinia, created between 1489 and 1500. You will be able to lose yourself among the two elegant neoclassical buildings of Villa Pitzalis and Villa Asquer: the latter in fact houses the museums of the olive tree and oil and that of Sardinian musical instruments, with a special place reserved for the launeddas.

The tour will continue with a trek on the Giara plateau where you can visit the Morisia botanical garden and enjoy the thrill of closely observing the wild ponies grazing.

Do you want to live a fantastic adventure and be the protagonist? Then this is the right opportunity, where you can range between the numerous practical experiential activities. Through a music workshop you will learn some techniques aimed at building the famous “launeddas” and get excited about learning to play them. You will be able to enjoy preparing the typical bread of Tuili “Su pani arrubiu” and bake it in the community oven in the center of the village. You will participate in the gastronomic workshops dedicated to the ancient lemon sorbet “Sa Carapigna” and the almond and honey dessert “Su Turroni”.

For October 6th in Genuri, a small town in the center of Marmilla known for its many centuries-old olive trees and the ruins of nuraghi, including that of S. Marco, activities are planned that are mainly linked to productivity and gastronomic tradition. With the help of expert operators, you will learn the ancient technique of beating the olive trees and harvesting the olives. You will be able to try your hand at preparing the dough, creating the shape with a chisel and cooking “su Coccoi Pintau”, cheese and Sardinian gnocchetti.

The two days will end with the curious experiences of “family dinner and lunch”: together we will consume what has been produced during the workshops, together with other local dishes based on zero-mile products.

And what are you waiting for?

Live your experience as a true protagonist!
