Staff nowhere to be found on the island: difficulties with English, and young people want free weekends
From the north to the south of the island - center and coasts included - hunting is open to seasonal workers . Which, one step away from the official start of the tourist season, seem almost impossible to find in all of Sardinia.
If the demand for Sardinia as a destination for travel and stays runs rather quickly almost everywhere, the selection of the staff who will have to welcome the arriving people has a much different speed .
Just connect to the internet and scroll through thousands of adverts which tell of just as many places still uncovered, with waiters, cooks, room cleaners and receptionists competing among the many structures still unprepared from a staffing point of view.
A situation that has been recurring for some years now , with little willingness of young people to work on weekends and the obstacle of foreign languages , necessary for this type of work but in which the Sardinians do not seem to shine.
