Fined for giving a kiss to his wife and greeting his son.

This is what happened to Julien Bernard, a French Lidl-Trek cyclist, at the Tour de France.

The Jury Commission sanctioned him for unseemly behavior detrimental to sport. Amount: 200 Swiss francs.

During yesterday's stage, the Gevrey-Chambertin time trial, Bernard was celebrated by his fans on the Côte de Reulle-Vergy before stopping for a moment to kiss his wife and greet his son. Behavior deemed inappropriate by the UCI. Which inflicted the economic sanction on the Frenchman.

Bernard ironically commented on the decision on social media: "Sorry UCI for damaging the image of sport, but I would be happy to pay 200 francs every day to experience moments like these."
