An own goal by Dametto was enough for Perugia to inflict Torres' second away defeat in a row. The Umbrians won 1-0 and Greco's rossoblù were joined in third place by the relaunched Pescara.
Torres didn't play badly, but they only managed to put intensity in the final quarters of the two halves. Too little. It's true that Antonelli, Mercadante, Guiebre and Diakite were missing, but the home team was without the bomber Montevago.
Chronicle - In the 2nd minute the ball immediately goes in for Marconi who, between two defenders in a slide, kicks high. The Umbrians insist and take the lead in the 28th minute: Torrasi puts it in and with his leg Dametto awkwardly changes the trajectory of the ball, fooling his own goalkeeper. Torres' response after half an hour is a free kick from Fischnaller that passes not far from the left post. Again the attacker receives a ball from Varela in the 39th minute - moved to the right - and turns well but kicks weakly. In the 42nd minute a nice ball into the area from Fischnaller at half height with a diving header from Zamparo and the ball goes less than a meter from the left post. It ends with another free kick from Fischnaller that gives the illusion of a goal because the ball ends up behind the net.
The second half offers little until the 64th minute when a shot by Joselito deflected becomes a cross: high. Counterattack by the Umbrians in the 70th minute with Ida closing at the last minute on Giunti before he shoots. Brentan is inserted in midfield and Scotto up front (with Varela moved to right winger).
At 76' deep cross from Fabriani from the right and sliding hits Scotto but without hitting the goal. At 88' Matos wastes a favorable two-on-two action. At 90' great stop on the left by Liviero and cross, Scotto arrives with a header but the shot is central.
