Participation in the two-hour strike called yesterday by Tiscali workers at the end of each work shift was very high. Peaks of 90% in some sectors, reports Uilcom Sardegna.

There is strong concern about the "total lack of dialogue with the new management," explains the general secretary of Uilcom Sardinia Tonino Ortega. «The unilateral management, to the limit of the violation of the reference contract, has increased the concern of the workers for their future, yesterday's is a clear claim, a clear signal to the top management so that together we can resume a path of sharing, transparency and respect".

The dispute began after the merger of Linkem and Tiscali last August. The new ownership led by Davide Rota has "canceled all forms of trade union dialogue". And after 5 months "he still hasn't presented the detailed industrial plan that demonstrates what the actions are to relaunch the company", highlights Ortega.

At the same time, the latest "unilateral" reorganisations are "moving all the company's managerial roles more and more out of Sardinia". Tiscali, recalls the trade unionist, «is not a call center, but a telecommunications company rich in professional knowledge and experience that must be valorised. We await positive responses from the company, otherwise we will also entrust the concerns for future employment on the island to the institutions».
