Mourning in the entertainment world for the death of Jean-Louis Trintignant . The French actor was 91 years old .

Born in Provence in 1930 , he made his debut in the 1950s with " And God created woman", a film with Brigitte Bardot directed by Roger Vadim.

With Vadim he also acted in "The dangerous relations", and then landed in Italy, in Cinecittà for "Violent summer" by Valerio Zurlini (1959) and the mythological "Antinea". Almost by chance , Dino Risi chose him to partner with Vittorio Gassman in "Il sorpasso" (1962) , the symbolic film of the Italian cinema of the Sixties.

In his career Trintignant has interpreted over 120 roles working with the greatest directors , from Cavalier to Costa Gavras, from Bertolucci to Scola, from Robbe-Grillet to Chabrol, From Rohmer to Deray, from Truffaut to Kieslowski, up to Michael Haneke.

In the theater he acted tragedy and comedy, becoming a sacred monster in the interpretation of the verses and texts of Prevert .

Besides "Il sorpasso" and "A man and a woman" his best known films are "Z - the orgy of power", "Put an evening to dinner", "My night with Maud", "The conformist", "The Sunday Woman", "The Tartar Desert", "The Terrace", "Finally Sunday" and "Red Film".
