The 38th edition of the Solinas Prize: Cinema, Creativity and Sustainability will see, tomorrow 23 September at 8.30 pm in Piazza XXIII February 1793, the award ceremony of the 3 competitions: Franco Solinas International Prize (for films intended for theaters and multimedia platforms), Solinas Documentary Award for Cinema in coll. with Apollo11, Premio Solinas Experimenta Serie with the main sponsorship of Rai Fiction. The final phases of the Solinas Prize, dedicated to emerging creativity in the field of cinematographic and audiovisual writing, began on September 20th.
An event - write the organizers - which takes place in the name of "sustainability, en plein air, offering a unique experience in an extraordinary context". In recent days La Maddalena has been transformed «into an open-air laboratory», including and creating «opportunities, comparison and exchange between the over 200 guests present: directors, screenwriters, broadcasters, producers, distributors, finalists of the Solinas Prize, journalists and students." Today (22 September) in Piazza XXIII February 1793, at 7.30pm, there will be the conference: "Cinema and environmental sustainability" while tomorrow at 10am in Punta Tegge the one entitled "Stories at the centre" is scheduled. The first Lab of La Bottega della Speggiatura - an initiative of Netflix and Premio Solinas - the Masterclasses and Pitches between the producers and the 40 finalists/winners of the various competitions are enlivening the working days while some films are being screened at the Lombard Cinema.
Environmental sustainability - the organizers always write - is one of the main focuses of this edition, with the inauguration today at 10.30 of "Ciak si plant - the children's garden" at the Istituto Comprensivo La Maddalena, Plesso di Moneta. «This project, carried out in collaboration with the Municipality of La Maddalena, Forestas, the Sardinia Film Commission Foundation and the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park, aims to offset the CO2 emissions produced by the 2023 Solinas Prize event and to promote the "education for environmental sustainability starting from primary school". There was no shortage of film screenings at the Lombard cinema, from "Bentu", written and directed by Salvatore Mereu, last September 20, to "Aquadro" by Stefano Lodovichi written with Davide Orsini and "Portraits of women 2 science", yesterday , a series created by the Farnesina with Annamaria Granatello for the Solinas Prize. Added to these were screenings of films and short films for the students of the Garibaldi Institute.
