«The Sardinia-Tuscany partnership for culture is something extraordinary and unique and should be valued as a mutual point of reference between two Regions: throughout history we have experienced the exchange that we then find today in our museums. Naturally, this is a vision that must not stop at the past or the present but which must come alive for the future, find elements of specific stimulus and appeal, so that tourism can embrace a unique and extraordinary region for Italy such as Sardinia . As far as Trexenta is concerned, I think it is an area very rich in history, culture and charm, especially at an archaeological level».

This was said by the President of the Tuscany Region Eugenio Giani this morning during the inauguration of Tourisma 2023 - the Exhibition of Archeology and Cultural Tourism, in Florence, in the courtyard of the Palazzo dei Congressi.

The event closes tomorrow Sunday 26 March and the Union of Municipalities of Trexenta (Guasila, Pimentel, Senorbì, Suelli, Guamaggiore, Selegas, Siurgus Donigala, Gesico and Ortacesus) is present to present the "Trexenta Experience" project, a experiential tourism activity which aims to promote the archaeological sites of the territories that become places of narration and knowledge of ancient crafts and traditions. The project is part of the program of experiential tourism financed by the Tourism Department of the Sardinia Region with funds from Law 7/55.

In 2022, the events relating to the first year of the project took place, which will last for three years. Furthermore, on Sunday morning, the publication "In the Womb of the Earth, a journey in Trexenta" written by Paola Carta and illustrated with photographs by Nicola Castangia and Lorenzo Naitza will be presented.
In Florence, the Mayors who are part of the Union of Municipalities of Trexenta have decided to invest in the unitary promotion of the area. All together therefore to promote the Trexenta Experience project beyond the island, with the aim of giving an international showcase to the archaeological and cultural heritage, so that it becomes a tourist attraction that goes beyond the bathing season.

It's called Trexenta Experience, and translates into a journey to rediscover the area. The absolute protagonist is the visitor who, through various stages – lasting about two months – will be involved in a historical and environmental experience, but also a physical and intellectual one. The route, designed for weekend appointments, crosses and involves the villages of Senorbì, Ortacesus, Siurgus Donigala, Pimentel, Suelli, Guasila, Gesico, Selegas and Guamaggiore. "Trexenta Experience" aims to enhance the archaeological resources of the area through what is called a "slow" and quality tourism. Thus we rely on the strength of culture, of religious festivals and rites and on tradition, be it musical, culinary, of typical costumes and customs. In summary: an innovative cultural evolution of tourist use, where the guest becomes the main active actor thanks to unforgettable experiences, in the suggestive archaeological sites.
