The Regional Council has unanimously approved the proposed law on a single collective bargaining framework for the Region and local authorities . The ultimate goal is to equalize the pay of employees of the Region, on the one hand, and those of municipalities, provinces, and metropolitan cities, on the other. However, this will take at least a couple of years. The measure, however, represents an important first step because it establishes ARANS , the Agency for the Negotiation Representation of the Region and Local Authorities of Sardinia .
This is a law that has been awaited for 19 years , ever since the establishment of the single sector in 2006, which has since remained unimplemented. The entire Assembly shared the aims of the bill, whose first signatory is Salvatore Corrias (Democratic Party) president of the Autonomy Committee, but there were some caveats. In particular, Paolo Truzzu , leader of the FdI group, noted that "this law establishes the ARAN, which is an important step, but it does not implement the single sector, and it does not allocate sufficient resources for equalizing salaries."
For now, in fact, the allocation of 12 million euros is planned for 2025, 30 million euros for 2026, and 30 million euros for 2027. This would not be enough. In reality, explains Prime Minister Piero Comandini , "we are not creating expectations or illusions, but we are taking an important step forward in recognizing the work of local government employees. A legislative measure that seeks to standardize the legal and economic system for all employees is a cutting-edge system."
