From Broadway classics to bossa nova, from musicals to jazz: on Friday at 8pm the Cantine Tenute Stintino in Pozzo San Nicola host the Singin'Swing Duo, made up of Silvia Ruiu on vocals and Mariano Tedde on piano. The event is part of the StintinoJazz&Classica concert series, organized for the eleventh consecutive year by the LABohème Cultural Association.
The concert will feature some songs from the history of jazz between the 40s and 60s, performed by the greatest such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald, Mel Tormè, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday.
Silvia Ruiu, from Sassari, approached music at the age of 11 and then concentrated on jazz singing, graduating from the Sassari Conservatory in 2023. She carries out concert activities in various clubs and in several events, including To Be In Jazz (Orchestra Jazz of Sardinia), Time in Jazz, on Wednesdays at the Sassari Conservatory proposing standard jazz arrangements and their own original compositions. He participated in a concert for the Insulae Lab project under the artistic direction of Paolo Fresu with his quintet SRD Jazz Project and as a vocalist at the national event for the 2023 Music Festival, opening Enrico Rava's concert with the Jazz Big Band on Rai Play.
Mariano Tedde has been active since the early 1990s with intense concert activity as the leader of numerous groups under his own name and as a sideman in important Italian musical projects.
He is the creator of "Jazz al Microscopio", a project to disseminate jazz music, as well as composer and arranger of the Woodstore Quintet, winning first prize at the Barga Jazz Conceorso 2001. He has played in Italy and abroad, including a tour in London, at the National Theater and in several clubs. Since 2005 he has been a jazz piano teacher at the “Luigi Canepa” Conservatory in Sassari. He has collaborated, among others, with Tom Harrell, Norma Winstone, Furio di Castri, Maria Pia De Vito, David Linx, Paolo Fresu, Giorgio Gaslini, Bruno Tommaso, Gegè Telesforo, Giovanni Falzone, Freddie Hendrix.
