The Sardinian championship of murra returns to Urzulei : the appointment is for Saturday 27 August , at 6 pm, with the twenty-third edition of the tournament.
The finalists will remove the ticket to participate in Murramundo , the international championship of Mediterranean morra players scheduled for next year.
In the amphitheater of Piazza Funtana Bècia and in front of the large mural representing the game, the best murra players of Sardinia are expected .
The tournament, which has been part of Urzulei's tradition since 1998 and is one of the essential appointments for game enthusiasts, this year will be organized by the cultural association "Po Su Jocu De Sa Murra" in collaboration with the Pro loco of the country and the Fedales 72 Orthullè committee.
It is played in pairs : the first four ranked pairs will gain access to the Murramundo tournament.
Sa murra is the Sardinian version of the morra whose origins date back to ancient Egypt. To underline the playful nature of the event, in Urzulei the choice of the organizers has always been to not include cash prizes : the first in the standings will be rewarded with products from the rich local craftsmanship and with two goats .
