An opportunity for dialogue in the name of gender equality, which has been able to give excellent updates on an increasingly feminine profession

Behind a "yes", a "no" or a "it depends" said by your dentist, hygienist, dental technician and assistant on what is good to do for the health of our teeth, there is a continuous improvement that leads these professionals to attend courses, events and demonstrations to cross opinions on different disciplines and to familiarize yourself with the most innovative techniques. A world that we can discover up close today with this video , which illustrates and tells the 11th International Congress of the Italian Dentistry Association (AIO) "Focus on the Gender Shift", which has just ended in Chia Laguna.
As delegated by AIO Nazionale, it was organized by the dentists of AIO Cagliari who have been able to attract here, on our island, the world's leading experts, as well as colleagues from all over Italy. Esteem, reliability and credibility were the winning cards that made this Congress an opportunity for updating that should not be missed.
Seventy between speakers and speakers shared the scene and timing of the various sessions equally for the first time. "The Congress was dedicated to gender equality, given that the presence of women in Dentistry is increasing: women are the majority of the total number of Dentistry students at the University of Cagliari and in post-graduate courses and masters and hold more and more leadership roles in dental organizations and associations. The message we wanted to give was therefore this: even women can be good speakers and good professionals, despite being mothers and wives. ”, Says Rossella Galisai, president of AIO Cagliari.
Attending the AIO International Congress in Sardinia has now become a tradition for experts in the sector, which over time has sanctioned an important concept: you can update yourself and make culture while staying on the island, without necessarily having to move from here.
A trend reversal that has become a reality from a challenge thanks to the virtuous evolution of a series of experiences that began many years ago. “From the time of the University.”, Says Roberto Falconi, treasurer of AIO Cagliari. “My colleagues at AIO Cagliari have been a close-knit team for some time. Together we did the same course of study and attended, immediately after graduation and for several years, the University Clinic as a "tutor" for the students of the degree course and as "internal dentists" to carry out our profession for free on patients who they turned for their dental care, especially children and adolescents. We then joined AIO to support this Association and to grow professionally by organizing important training events, like this one, with world-renowned speakers capable of making a contribution that makes the difference ".
The international dimension was therefore an achievement. “Also passed through the acquisition of representative positions in European and American organizations and the assiduous participation in conferences and fairs abroad to establish relationships and understandings and find funding and speakers”, adds Enrico Lai, cultural secretary of AIO Cagliari.
An important commitment that has resulted in a valuable initiative that will soon return to us. The AIO International Congress will take place again in 2023, again in Sardinia.
