The Italian Olympic sailing team returns to Cagliari. From Wednesday 1 December, the capital will again be the base of the Azzurri rallies, already included in the campaign for the Paris 2024 games.

The incoming fleets . Four fleets that until December 20, at different times, will be based at the Yacht Club Cagliari and Windsurfing Club Cagliari. The first to arrive will be the Formula Kite specialists. For Lorenzo Boschetti, Alessio Brasili, Mario Calbucci, Riccardo Pianosi, Tiana Laporte, Maggie Pescetto and Sofia Tomasoni, it is actually a close return: already in mid-October they had tested the waters of the Poetto, during the Sardinia Grand Slam.

The arrival of the Nacra 17 catamarans, captained by Ruggero Tita and Caterina Banti, Olympic gold medalist in Tokyo, is expected on Thursday. In the team also Gianluigi Ugolini-Maria Giubilei and Vittorio Bissaro-Maelle Frascari.

On the same day, the three 49er doubles (Marco Anessi-Edoardo Gamba, Uberto Crivelli-Giulio Calabrò, Simone Ferrarese-Leonardo Chistè) and as many 49er fx (Carlotta Omari-Sveva Carraro, Alexandra Stalder-Silvia Speri, Jana Germani-Giorgia are also expected Bertuzzi) while the following week will be the turn of IQFoil windsurfing.

Cagliari again . The capital will thus be the epicenter of the Italian Olympic training, as has already happened several times in the past. “Cagliari is a strategic training base for our team”, confirmed the technical director, Michele Marchesini, “the weather and sea conditions are interesting and allow you to carry out complete preparation programs. For several years now, I have chosen to focus the winter preparation of most of the classes in these waters ".
