“At zent'anni. La Faradda seen from Palazzo di Città” is the photographic exhibition that can be visited until September 7th in the Sala Duce of Palazzo Ducale in Sassari .

There are 28 shots selected from the impressive photographic archive of Salvatore Marras which is preserved in the Municipal Historical Archives recently declared of notable historical interest by the Archival Superintendency of Sardinia.

They are strictly black and white photos that encompass the years from 1956 to 1984 and above all they privilege the perspective of the mayors and the Municipality, which represents the civil component of a rite born over half a millennium ago to thank the Madonna for having stopped a plague.

In the shots you can recognize the mayors of those decades and the illustrious politicians of Sassari : the two presidents of the Republic Antonio Segni and Francesco Cossiga, the secretary of the PCI Enrico Berlinguer and the honorable Beppe Pisanu, then undersecretary but not yet minister.
