Second appointment with the review “Quadri di donne” organized by Theatre en Vol. Sunday at the TEV space in via De Martini 15 (San Giorgio), starting at 7 pm , the theatrical show for children “Janas s'Incantu” by the Sorradile company Le Voci di Astarte will be performed.

In a show that speaks to children and their companions, the “storyteller” Gloria Uccheddu will reveal these mysterious beings , often described as small winged fairies or sometimes as witches whose origin is shrouded in mystery. In reality the Janas are much more: perhaps priestesses of the Mother Goddess who lived in matriarchal communities in harmony with nature, experts in herbs and healers with extraordinary knowledge who taught the Sardinians to spin, weave, treat wool, prepare bread and typical sweets, sing, and dance su ballu tundu .

Starting from suggestions, legends and stories that animate the cultural anthropology of Sardinia, the book Janas s'Incantu was born, from which the show is based, written by Sabrina Barlini and illustrated by Alessandra Murgia, in which fantasy completes the ancient narration and which aims to tell children (but also adults) who the Janas are, through a poetic but at the same time universal language, which excites and recalls the need to know one's roots.
