The Elsewhere Festival dedicated to Giulio Angioni ends today , Sunday 29 October, in Guasila .

This year's event was opened by the evocative ceremony and laying of the stone created by the artist Cherubino Mungianu : the work links the literary event to its symbols (the nuraghe and the readers) and to the symbols of the place (the ears).

At 5pm, at the municipal auditorium in via Manzoni 8, Stefania Pinna will host the final of the seventh edition of the Giulio Angioni Prize , with readings by Daniela Vitellaro .

The Festival , promoted by the Culture Department of the Municipality of Guasila in collaboration with the association of Local Authorities for Cultural and Entertainment Activities, is dedicated to the memory of Giulio Angioni : anthropologist, university professor, screenwriter, writer and poet, several times finalist at Viareggio and winner of the Mondello and Dessì Awards.

The literary prize was created by the municipal administration to convey cultural values and social inclusion. From this edition the Award has opened up to new sections : published and unpublished fiction, poetry, non-fiction and lifetime achievement award. There is anticipation for the winners who will be revealed today, at the closing of the Festival.

The young writer Matteo Porru, author of several novels that have won important literary prizes (including the Campiello), holds the dual role of president of the Angioni Award and artistic director of the Festival dell'Altrove.
