The 2024 Nobel Prize in Literature goes to South Korean writer Han Kang .
The decision of the Swedish Academy "for his intense poetic prose that confronts historical traumas with the fragility of human life."
Kang, 54, won the 2016 Man Booker International Prize for Fiction with “The Vegetarian” (published in Italy by Adelphi), a novel about a woman’s descent into mental illness and abandonment by her family.
Among the other works by Han Kang published in our country by Adelphi, “L'Ora di Greco”, “Atti Umani” (Malaparte Prize in 2017), “Convalescence”.
She is the first representative of the Korean literary tradition to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
