The third edition of the Vittorio Inzaina Award, organized by Proloco and the Municipality of Telti with the support of the Sardinia Region, opens tonight with the historic Cantabimbo—a singing event founded in 1963 by Paolo Masala. Twenty-four excited young people will take to the stage in Piazza Duomo , selected and trained by maestro Giovanni Budroni , who recently celebrated sixty years in music . A career that began as a child at Cantabimbo, where he became organizer and director at 18.
A graduate of the Cagliari Conservatory, Budroni, a multi-instrumentalist and teacher, has performed, with numerous bands and as a soloist, from the beat era to the Italian pop of the '80s and '90s, opening for renowned artists and recording hit singles. For several years, he has been an official partner of Casa Sanremo, where many of the young singers who take part in Cantabimbo also perform, and he is currently the artistic director of the Inzaina Prize. The evening dedicated to children, tomorrow, August 23rd, and Sunday the 24th, starting at 7:45 pm, will be followed by the competition for the singers admitted to the Prize. Opening the evening will be the Bud Brothers, who will perform Vittorio Inzaina's repertoire as well as revisiting pop/blues songs.
Twenty competing singers, from public and private schools across various provinces , will perform before a panel of industry experts. In addition to the top three spots, the contestants will also compete for the Critics' Award, Best Unreleased Song, and Best Performance in the Senior category. On Sunday, there's great anticipation for the arrival of tenor Francesco Demuro , who will receive the Isola In…cantata 2025 award from Councilor Matteo Sanna. "This is an award reserved for artistic figures who have upheld the island's reputation worldwide," Sanna stated. "With his charisma, tenacity, professionalism, and undeniable talent, Francesco Demuro has brought the island to national and international prominence."
