From January, the new management of the Teatro Massimo of Cagliari under the Cedac and Jazz in Sardinia. With three events that have already met the enthusiasm of the public: the show of the comedian Valerio Lundini, the double sold out of Carmen Consoli and the flamenco of Sergio Bernal.

"A new regional cultural center with posters of excellence in theater, dance, music, literature, contemporary circus, children's theater, workshops, in dialogue with associations, artists, citizens and an opportunity for growth for new talents", underlines Antonio Cabiddu, president Cedac.

"A theater experienced by the city - adds the artistic director Valeria Ciabattoni - open every day and made attractive by enriching its overall offer".

THE APPOINTMENTS - An articulated program is scheduled, designed to make the most of the rooms, the foyer and the terrace. Il Massimo will host the historic Cedac prose and dance Season, plus reviews dedicated to contemporary art such as Single Pieces and the next edition of the Jazz Club Network.

The new course shines the spotlight on important names on the national and international scene. It starts with Anna Maria Guarnieri, from 26 to 30 January, and then two giants of the scene such as Umberto Orsini and Franco Branciaroli, from 2 to 6 March. Among the leading protagonists also Anna Foglietta and Paola Minaccioni, from 6 to 10 April, Jean-Claude Gallotta, leading exponent of the French nouvelle danse, on 2 April. Contemporary glances with the talent of Arturo Brachetti, the famous actor-transformer, on March 19th, and Geppi Cucciari in “Perfetta”, May 5th and 6th.

GREAT MUSIC - And then the music. "For Jazz in Sardinia it is a return to the theater where it began its activity in 1980 with memorable events", recalls the artistic director Massimo Palmas. The start on February 25 and 26 with the American pianist Danny Grissett, the long-awaited Dee Dee Bridgewater (April 15), the award-winning duo Gonzalo Rubalcaba and Aymée Nuviola (March 18), the trio led by Jeff Ballard (March 22) , the South American percussionist Horacio El Negro Hernàndez, special guest in the trio of vibraphonist Marco Pacassoni (25-26 March).

THE APPEAL OF TRUZZU - From the mayor of Cagliari, Paolo Truzzu, the appeal to fill the rooms. "Come to the theater, it is a safe place", underlined the mayor, speaking of "an important project that enriches the cultural offer of the city and gives new life to the theater".
