Suelli artist Francesco Piseddu has died at the age of 77. For many years he was a professor of artistic education in the middle school of the Luigi Mezzacapo comprehensive institute in Senorbì, training several generations of students. A multifaceted artist born in the small town of Trexenta in 1946, he graduated at the Liceo Artistico in Cagliari in 1966 and in 1970 he obtained the qualification to teach drawing and art history.

In 1973 he set up his first personal painting exhibition at the “Il Pennellaccio” gallery in Cagliari, presented by Foiso Fois, already his teacher at high school. In addition to oil painting, he dedicates himself to silk-screen printing, linocut (relief engraving technique performed on linoleum) and sculpture. Since 2003 he has dedicated himself to artistic stained glass with lead binding, carrying out various works including the two stained glass windows, six square meters each, for the parish church of Gairo.

His interest in painting on ceramics dates back to 2008 and he also experiments with drypoint and etching on zinc following the suggestions of his friend Salvatore Atzeni. A year later he published “Dal Masso di Montitzinniga”, an appreciated volume of poems written between 1966 and 1992. He also carried out the restorations of the statues of the Madonna del Rosario and the Madonna Assunta of the Parish of Santa Barbara in Senorbí.
