Sports betting, in 2023 the Sardinians spent 8 million euros to try their luck

Eight million euros. It is the amount spent every year by Sardinians on sports betting.
The data - relating to 2023 - is released by the Agimeg agency.
Looking at the individual provinces, the greatest expenditure was recorded in the metropolitan city of Cagliari, where 3.4 million euros were spent in one year.
Followed by Sassari (2.6 million euros of annual expenditure), Oristano (904 thousand euros), Nuoro (675 thousand euros) and Southern Sardinia (443 thousand euros).
The total winnings achieved in Sardinia in 2023 from sports betting amount, the agency underlines, to around 33 million euros.
As far as Italy as a whole is concerned, sports betting in agencies recorded spending of 929.6 million euros, while winnings exceeded 4.1 billion.
Naples confirms itself as the province with the highest expenditure (over 143.2 million euros).
In Rome and its province, however, 65.3 million euros were spent, while Milan closes the podium with spending on sports betting in agencies of 48.5 million euros.
