Spal announces that it has registered midfielder Radja Nainggolan with a contract until 30 June 2023 with automatic renewal for the 2023/2024 football season when certain conditions are met.

As the Spal website informs, 34-year-old Nainggolan took his first football steps in the youth sector of K. Beerschot AC, before joining the Piacenza Calcio youth sector in 2005, making his professional debut in the Serie B championship 2005/2006 at the age of eighteen. After 71 appearances and 4 goals in Serie B with the red and white shirt, in January 2010 he moved to Cagliari, making his debut immediately in the top flight in the match between the rossoblù and Inter at San Siro. Among the ranks of the Sardinian team, he collected 137 appearances and scored 7 goals between Serie A and the Italian Cup, before moving to Rome in January 2014.

With the Giallorossi shirt he was immediately the protagonist and in the 2014/2015 season, in addition to being one of the team's reference points in Serie A, where he scored 5 goals, he made his debut in both the Champions League and the Europa League. In 2016/2017 he played his best season in yellow and red with 14 goals in 53 appearances in national and European competitions.

In the summer of 2018, after 203 appearances and 33 goals, he ended his experience with AS Roma and moved to Inter. With the Nerazzurri he scored 7 goals, including the winning goal on the last day of the championship against Empoli, decisive for the Nerazzurri's qualification for the next edition of the Champions League.

The following year he returned to Cagliari, contributing to the conquest of two consecutive saves with a total haul of 48 appearances and 7 goals. At the beginning of the 2021/2022 season he moved to Royal Antwerp FC, a team participating in the Jupiler Pro League, the top Belgian national league, among which he collected 55 appearances and 6 goals between the championship and the Europa League.

Always called up in the various youth selections of Belgium, Nainggolan made his debut with the senior national team in May 2009. With the representative of his country he was able to reach the quarter-finals of the 2016 European Championships, playing a total of 30 games and score 6 goals.
