On the clay of Rome, Jannik Sinner surrenders to Carlos Alcaraz, who triumphs in the final of the 2025 Internazionali d'Italia.

The super challenge on the centre court of the Foro Italico , packed in every seat, ended 7-6, 6-1 for the Spaniard , who prevailed over the distance by making the most of his better physical and perhaps even mental condition compared to the Italian champion.

Great balance in the first set , with the two opponents responding blow for blow. After almost an hour of play , Jannik manages to get to 6-5 and obtains two set points, but suffers the return of the Spaniard who eventually breaks the 6-6 . So it goes to the tie-break , where Alcaraz arrives to conquer two set points. Sinner cancels the first, but on the second the Spaniard gets the better of it, thus making the first, very hard-fought set his own.

The second set was a different story: Alcaraz started off strong and managed to break the score and make it 2-0 , then held serve and, thanks to Sinner's progressive drop in tension , went on to 3-0 and then even 4-0 , gaining another break.

Jannik, supported by the crowd, tries to react, but the Iberian is now launched and uncatchable and makes it 5-0 .

Now on the ropes, Sinner doesn't miss his serve this time and wins the game for 5-1, but in the last game Alcaraz is relentless and doesn't make a mistake: 6-1 and triumph in one hour and 43 minutes of play.

"I would have signed before the tournament to play the final," Sinner said, commenting on the defeat. "Well done Carlos, you did a great job, you are the man to beat in Paris , the best at the moment on clay," he added, turning to his opponent.

"We have spent months that were anything but easy, being here is already a great result. I can be proud , we brought home a trophy even if I wanted the other one...", concluded the Italian champion.
