After equaling Adriano Panatta to become number 4 in the world, Jannik Sinner took a liking to it and also won the final of the ATP 500 tournament in Beijing.

He did so by beating his bête noire, world number 3 Danil Medvedev who up to now had defeated him in six out of six head-to-head matches. The Italian won in 2 hours and 3 minutes with a score of 7-6, 7-6, dominating both tiebreaks 7-2 and thus taking home his ninth ATP title.

A further step in the growth of the South Tyrolean champion, who managed to beat a tennis player who was difficult for him. He did this by playing much more offensive and attacking tennis, serving well and coming to the net more often than usual to neutralize the Russian's great returner skills.

A success, that of Beijing, which is worth more than his first Master 1000 won in August in Toronto. At least for the quality of the defeated players: in Canada he prevailed in the last two rounds over Paul and De Minaur, here he defeated the number 2 and number 3 in the world, Alcaraz and Medvedev.
