A single universal allowance from 50 to 175 euros per month, from the seventh month of pregnancy up to 21 years of age.

This is foreseen by the draft of the implementing decree which should arrive on the table of the Council of Ministers tomorrow, to then continue its process and be examined by the parliamentary committees.

From next year, therefore, the State will support all families with children, even the most affluent, obviously according to the principle of progressivity.

The allowance will affect both employees and self-employed workers and will be disbursed by INPS upon request of the units concerned.

The measure, which will be operational from March 2022 (applications can be submitted as early as January 1, even by adult children), will take particular account of large families who, by combining several requirements, will be able to obtain up to over 1000 euros per month.

The ISEE declaration must also be attached to the request, even if those who do not submit it will not be excluded and will still receive the check in its minimum amount.

Among the beneficiaries there are also non-EU citizens residing in Italy for at least two years.

The amounts will be parameterized on the basis of the indicator of the equivalent economic situation: two limits identified, under 15 thousand euros to get the maximum benefits, over 40 thousand to have at least the minimum.

The contribution will range from 50 to 175 euros per month for minors and from 25 to 85 euros for children between 18 and 21 years of age.

From the third child onwards, there is a surcharge of between 15 and 85 euros per child (again on the basis of the Isee), while families with four children or more will have an additional flat-rate increase of 100 euros per month.

Families with children with disabilities will receive the single "unlimited age" allowance for their children. For minors there is an extra 105 euros per month "in case of non self-sufficiency", 95 euros "in case of severe disability" and 85 euros "in case of medium disability".

For the new provision, which replaces all the old aid to the family, from the baby bonus to family allowances, approximately 15 billion will be made available in 2022, which will gradually increase to reach 19 and a half billion starting from 2029.
