The art of Aikido

Aikido is the Japanese martial art , focused on self-defense , created by Morihei Ueshiba.

In the philosophy of its founder, Ueshiba, Aikido represents the means to unite peoples in one and only big family and not, on the contrary, to hurt others.

"In Aikido, the spiritual growth of the individual is emphasized through the acquisition of the ability to defend oneself.

The spiritual dimension of this art permeates every aspect of the practice, inside and outside the dojo" - reports Master Marco Uda , 6th dan Aikikai Tokyo, (6th dan TAAI, 5th dan buki waza), current technical manager for the Aikido sector of ASD Shido .

For those who practice martial arts the meaning of dojo goes far beyond the simplistic term gym but a place where you follow the way. From this point of view, personal growth is evident: the interest in this art, traditional Aikido, little known in Sardinia, is growing and Marco Uda is the first teacher to divulge it in Sardinia.

ASD Shido school

"Ideally, when you find yourself in a situation of physical conflict, the aikidoka must only apply a control necessary to neutralize the opponent's attack and to avert the danger" - says Master Marco Uda who starts practicing Aikido in Cagliari in 1972 and in 1995, he begins to dedicate himself

to teaching.

Aikido practice in ASD Shido takes place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 19.00 to 22.00 in three shifts, from the month of April a new shift will start from 11.00 to 12.00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

In addition to Maestro Marco Uda, member of the TAAI Examination Commission and currently President of TAAI, two other instructors teach at the dojo: Maestro Emilia Tore (III° Dan tai jutsu and IV° Dan buki waza) and Maestro Andrea Muggiri ( 3rd Dan tai jutsu and 4th Dan buki waza).

Special discounted conditions are reserved for students.

The lessons are certainly an essential opportunity to approach a discipline in a deeper way

modern, rooted in martial tradition and Japanese culture.

The mission followed by the school directed by Marco Uda, in Quartu Sant'Elena , is to involve the beginner and the seasoned practitioner in training, albeit demanding, rigorous and serious, always in a reassuring and joyful way.

Master Marco Uda

Maestro Uda has a long training history behind him which gives his students a guarantee of professionalism and care.

Ten years after its inception, in 1982, he obtained the rank of Shodan from Maestro Filippini.

In 1990, participating in a seminar of Paolo Corallini Sensei, faithful student of Morihiro Saito Sensei, he realizes the limits of Aikido practiced and moved by great energy, he chooses to devote himself to the practice of Traditional Aikido of the Iwama school.

He is under the guidance of M° Corallini, who regularly participates in seminars in Italy and abroad, obtaining the degree of VI° Dan TAAI and VI° Dan Aikikai So Hombu.

Master Marco Uda continues his journey of learning the art of Aikido and teaching in his school ASD Shido.
