Shared energy is the way forward

Italy and Europe are working to spread renewable energy communities: the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security has started the process with the European Union for the draft decree that provides incentives for electricity produced by plants renewables and shared in the CERs, a sign of how much this tool is considered fundamental in terms of energy transition and to increase the penetration of renewables in the energy mix. Also in light of this, energy communities represent a great opportunity for Sardinia, because they promote sustainability and offer great savings on energy consumption and costs, an increasingly widespread need in both the public and private sectors.

The CERs are associations created by companies, public administrations, citizens and condominiums that equip themselves with plants for the production of renewable energy such as photovoltaics, sharing the energy fed into the grid and distributing the relative benefits . First of all, the economic ones, which essentially derive from the sale of energy produced in excess and from the incentive mechanisms established by law to promote energy communities. Building plants larger than one's needs, sharing energy and ensuring that members who have shared it can receive these benefits thus becomes a virtuous and convenient process.

The surplus of energy produced also makes it possible to provide a sort of energy income in the bill , which helps to solve the problem of energy poverty. To the economic benefits we must then add the environmental advantages, as the energy communities, by producing electricity from renewable sources, reduce CO2 and climate-altering gas emissions.
