Defender Mario Mercadante has faith in Torres and even a small regret: «We have done great things, we are a very strong team, we are disappointed because at times we lowered the level and this prevented us from fighting until the end for the championship victory which in my opinion was within our reach».

The Sassari team will enjoy the first two rounds of the playoffs in the group stage as spectators (played on Sunday and Wednesday) and will enter the competition on Sunday 11th.

"The playoffs are like a World Cup and we want to have our say, we know that the other teams respect us and that we cannot allow ourselves distractions like what happened in the last two games. We have to believe, we are an experienced team that can make its dreams come true. We have to be convinced that we can get to the end."

As a veteran of the playoffs for Serie B, Mercadante has his say: "I made the playoffs starting from different positions, with Cesena I even reached the semifinals then lost to Lecco on penalties. You have to arrive in good physical condition, try to go beyond your limits and then the push of the fans can make the difference".
