Torres never disappoints away from home. Fourth win in five games. Very heavy, because the 3-2 in Pontedera was obtained in a comeback, even if facilitated by the expulsion of Martinelli for protests at the end of the first half. Adama Diakite was the great protagonist, fielded as a starter and scoring a brace with his head, while the 2-2 was scored by Mastinu.

Pontedera, led by the new coach Menichini (Mazzone's assistant at Cagliari and head coach at Sassari in 2005) is very dangerous in the central part of the first half. In the 18th minute Corona, alone, grazes the ball with a header and it hits the left post. In the 23rd minute Ianes heads and Petriccione, even between the posts, is beaten by the lob. Another post for the Tuscans, in the 36th minute with the former Olbia player Ragatzu. Immediately after, however, Martinelli is sent off, perhaps for protesting.

The Sassari team pushes and engages the goalkeeper with Mastinu and Varela. At the end of the recovery time, Diakite heads the ball in for the equaliser.

In the second half, Varela's carelessness in disengagement and a not very intelligent foul by Coccolo on Corona just inside the area and with his back to the goal. The penalty is converted by Corona himself with a very angled shot where Petriccione does not reach. The rossoblù immediately equalize with Mastinu who, on a short clearance, shoots at a very angle to the right. The goal of the overtaking is scored again by Diakite in the 74th minute, tapping in after the goalkeeper's feat on a header by Coccolo.
