The Stintino Tonnara Museum will also host the "Stintino Prize for scientific dissemination" this year, now in its seventh edition and this year sponsored by the Sardinia Region. The award ceremony will take place on June 22nd starting at 6.30 pm, which the Scientific Committee, chaired by Piero Cappuccinelli, professor emeritus of the University of Sassari and Accademico dei Lincei, has awarded for the year 2024 to Giorgio Parisi, Nobel Prize winner for Physics.
After the institutional greetings from Rita Vallebella, mayor of Stintino, from Franco Cuccureddu, regional councilor for Tourism, Crafts and Commerce, from Gavino Mariotti, rector of the University of Sassari, from Giovanni Sotgiu, president of the Faculty Connection Structure of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Sassari, of Giacomo Spissu, president of the Sardinia foundation, of Giuseppe Cuccurese, director of the Banco di Sardegna, Flaminia Saccà, full professor of Sociology of political phenomena (Department of Psychology of Development Processes and socialization, Sapienza University of Rome), will outline the life of Giorgio Parisi between science, popularization and politics.
Following this, Giorgio Parisi will talk with Simona De Francisci, journalist and co-director of the Videolina and Radiolina news. The evening will continue with the reading of the reasons for the awarding of the prize by Piero Cappuccinelli, professor emeritus of the University of Sassari, Accademico dei Lincei and president of the Scientific Committee and the presentation of the 2024 "Stintino Prize for Scientific Dissemination" to Giorgio Parisi The event will end with “Su ballu tundu for a Nobel”, a show by the “Ittiri Cannedu” Folk Group dedicated to Giorgio Parisi.
