International flute star, the German Dorothee Oberlinger arrives on the island for an eagerly awaited concert. On Friday at 8.30 pm he will be on the stage of the Verdi Theater together with a famous ensemble: the Sonatori de la Gioiosa Marca, a Venetian formation that for a quarter of a century has been dedicated to performing ancient music on period instruments.

Host of the world's most important theaters, Dorothee has been music director of the Arolser Barockfestspiele in Bad Arolsen since 2009 and has assumed the position of music director of the Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci, a two-week festival with more than 50 events taking place in Potsdam Castle Sanssouci.

The program of the evening “Vivaldi e la Natura” will offer a selection of concerts and sonatas by the Venetian composer that draw inspiration from nature. Vivaldi in his compositions filters images, situations, sensations merging them into a single musical action. An exceptional composer in the eighteenth-century panorama, he frees himself from late Baroque schematic forms to recreate a “music of nature” that describes a season of the year, a natural scenario, a spatial element, a nocturnal state, zoomorphic voices.

Among the songs on the program La Pastorella, La Tempesta di Mare, La Notte and Gardellino.

Upcoming appointments on 8 April with the violinist Fabio Biondi and on 22 April with the Uruguayan bandoneonist Héctor Ulises Passarella
