Being migrants in a Europe that sometimes closes its borders.

This is the track of "Life", the new short by the talented Sassari director Alfredo Moreno, 46, already winner in the Horror short category of important international festivals, including Los Angeles and New York. This time, however, it will not be a horror film, but a raw, sometimes violent film, taken from a true story, which will be shot entirely in Sassari.

The first take on November 3. The film deals with the story of Omar, who runs away from home from Syria, a country at war. The young man seeks redemption in the wrong way: nights in ambiguous clubs, drugs and stunts with new friends. But then he will fight with his demons to be able to change his own existence, infected by the existential dissatisfaction that seems to be rooted in Western life.

"Life is an insight into the human and psychological condition of a person who has left everything behind, even the struggle for the freedom of his people - comments the director Alfredo Moreno -. Omar collects an incredible story of loss, love and survival". The role of Omar will be played by Syrian actor Moustafà Khlaf, 32, who has lived in Sassari for 13 years, waiting to receive Italian citizenship. Other main performers are the Sardinian actress (di Villaperuccio) Michela Putzu and the Alghero actor Roberto Bilardi. Some sequences of the film will be shot in Piazza d'Italia and in the Sirio metro.
