The competition is growing, the number and above all the quality of the participants in the International Literary Prize of the City of Sassari, which celebrated its 14th edition in the Sala Sassu of the Sassari Conservatory, is growing. An integral part of the International Festival organized by POP (Progetto Ottobre in Poesia), the Literary Prize conceived by Leonardo Omar Onida has already collected over 4,000 volumes, 12,000 poems and 600 short stories in its 14 years of life.

These are the winners of the 2021 edition.

In section A, Edito Poesia - Angelo Mundula Prize, the Aostan poet Umberto Druschovic won with “The words of the wind”. Honorable mention for "Una nue 'e orrosas" by Sardinian Eliano Cau.

In section B entitled to Maria Carta and reserved for unpublished poems, success for "Esserti lacrima" by Alessandro Izzi, from Gaeta. Also on the podium "And I will find you along the way" by Vittorio di Ruocco and "Daughter" by Costantino Pes, by San Teodoro.

For fiction, section C, the Salvatore Mannuzzu Award went to Maria Felicetti di Buccinasco for “La cena philosophica”.

Finally, in section D, Once upon a time .. and there still is (story or nursery rhyme for children), the jury awarded Luigi Brasili, from Cerveteri, for “Water rhyme”. Honorable mention to the Sardinian Vincenzo Sotgiu for “Il volo libero”.

It should be remembered that, in addition to the Award Jury, the "School Jury" was involved, made up of four thousand students from higher education institutions throughout Sardinia: Liceo classico Canopoleno (SS), Istituto Tecnico Industriale "GM Angioy" (SS ), Scientific High School “M. Paglietti "(Porto Torres), IIS" A. Segni ”(Ozieri) - Azuni High School (Sassari) - Marconi Scientific High School,“ Pellegrini ”Agricultural Technical Institute (SS), Cargeghe Middle School.
