On May 15 and 16, 2026, at the Fusolab in Rome, on Via della Bella Villa, Sardinian photographer and filmmaker Roberto Pili will be the protagonist of the sixth edition of the Hip Hop Cinefest with a photography exhibition dedicated to the Sardinian and national hip hop movement.
An exhibition that tells the story of hip hop culture from the inside through a recognizable and radical photographic style: extreme wide-angle lenses, total immersion in the scene, and a search for truth and authenticity.
The exhibition features images of some of the most important exponents of the Italian hip hop scene, including Kaos One, Danno dei Colle Der Fomento, DJ Ice One, DJ Gruff, and Militant A, along with photographs documenting the thriving Sardinian scene.
Roberto Pili will be the only Sardinian artist present with a photographic exhibition within the festival, confirming the increasingly strong link between Sardinia and the international languages of hip hop culture.
Today, Hip Hop Cinefest is one of the most important international events dedicated to underground cinema and hip hop culture, a meeting point for directors, photographers, artists, breakers, writers, and musicians from all over the world.
Pili's participation follows the recognition he received at the last edition of the festival, where his documentary "Profondo Nero" won the award for Best Documentary Short. The work explores the relationship between art and mental health through the figure of artist Davide Lai, aka Nero, exploring the boundaries between artistic expression, fragility, and personal identity.
