The narrow spaces and the approximately 150 people on board did not stop the motor vessel that last August 18 ventured into the Cormorant Cave of Baunei, risking a collision with the rock face. After what happened, the Port Authority of Olbia opened an investigation into the maneuver of the vessel of a company from Cala Gonone. The scene was filmed by tourists and the video went viral on the web.

The report will be transferred to the Lanusei Prosecutor's Office together with a video that has also been circulating on social media in which you can hear the shocking words spoken by the boat's loudspeaker against the background music of the film "Pirates of the Caribbean": "Now can you imagine Schettino's face (in reference to the commander responsible for the sinking of the Costa Concordia, ed.) if he saw how we in Sardinia bow?"

"We are proceeding with the investigations to verify the existence of criminal offences against the commander and the Cala Gonone company that with that action put people and the motor vessel at risk - explained Captain Gianluca D'Agostino, maritime director of the Olbia port authority - At the conclusion of the investigations we will send the file to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Lanusei with jurisdiction over the territory".

«The crime hypothesized – continues D'Agostino – would be included in article 450 of the penal code which provides for the arrest and imprisonment of up to two years of "anyone who, with his own culpable action or omission, causes the risk of a disaster, a flood, a shipwreck, or the submergence of a vessel to arise or persist».
