Seven hundred euros . They don't erase the fear of a nightmare night, but they reveal the pure essence of a welcoming community, the annoyance of what shouldn't have happened.

Villanova and Villagrande, with a collection promoted by the Su Scusorgiu association, collected donations to repair the damage to the camper van suffered on August 15th by a Milanese family vacationing in Sardinia.

"For repairs, knowing that we cannot erase the offense," the association says.

Marco Rolando and his family experienced a nightmarish night on August 14th, attacked by three strangers while they were staying in a camper in the clearing near the Sa Carcaredda archaeological site in Villanova Strisaili. The August night's madness led to a report to the Carabinieri. The news of this beautiful gesture broke yesterday.

The Rolando family's reaction was moving. "We are very grateful to the people of Villagrande and Villanova ," Marco said. "At the time, that night, we were shocked, but gestures both large and small made us understand that violence is not the norm, and these acts are condemned by most people."
